The shank of this ring is thicker and its design is hand stamped. The frame around the bezel is hand cut out of half round wire using a jeweler's saw. This ring is cleaned and polished on a traditional buffing wheel machine, showing the bright color of the sterling silver. The Wampum shell has always been popular in the North Eastern states. Eastern Coastal Nations used it as a form of trade/currency. A popular use for Wampum bead is its use in "treaty belts". Historically the darker the purple, the more the shell was worth. We hope you like our work.
