This ladies watch band is Native American made and it is sterling silver. It has 2 Wampum shells on each side. The price does not include the watch face it self. Your are purchasing just the band. While the Wampum shell is not as well know as turquoise and coral in Native American jewelry, it is gaining in popularity. When choosing this piece we wanted to show some variation. The designe is created for comfort. It has been shaped and smoothed to fit your wrist
The Wampum shell has always been popular in the North Eastern states. Eastern Coastal Nations used it as a form of trade/currency. A popular use for Wampum bead is its use in "treaty belts".
